rebuild question

on my FD the heater outlet on the rear iron has that pipe then the plastic piece that snaps onto the pipe. and the hose clamps onto the plastic piece. during my rebuild i removed the plastic piece, my friend tells me that i need a new one now. I was wondering if anyone just clamps the heater hose right onto the metal pipe? would that work or no?

since you said you actually have an FD, I guess it sort of begs the question if you have tried getting a replacement of the fitting. I imagine it would make life easier in terms of connecting it.

that said, I would imagine that all the people that put REWs into non-FD chassis' probably delete that fitting and just put the heater hose on with hose clamps. just keep in mind that that's speculation on my part though. if this thread doesn't garner any more responses, you can try searching for users that have done REW swaps and PM them your question.
