Im in the process of buy a 93 fd touring eddition and would like to know any advice on what to have checked out by a rotary mechanic before the purchase. The car has 84k miles on it and dont know if the motor has been rebuilt havent asked yet but would a compression test or any other type of test tell me or give me some sort of knowledge of the longevity of the motor and if a rebuild is needed? I will be using it as a dd and plan on getting all the reliability mods for it. Thanks in advanced.

an overall good inspection. a compression test would give you a good idea of what condition the apex seals are in. also it would be good to have the cooling system tested as leaks can be a pita!
