Pool of coolant, top of rear housing..

I've noticed a slow pooling of engine coolant on top of the rear rotor housing.

S4 jdm TII engine block, i think an s5 lower intake, blowthrough carb setup.

here's a pic. What do you think is causing this?

Perhaps a leaking hose? waht could STRUCTURABLY be wrong? I can't think of anything....

I would agree with william and say bad intake o-ring. You may also want to check the nipple coming off of the rear plate. I know on the s4 blocks that nipple connects to the throttle body, it can be a pain in the *** to get back on when putting the tb back on. Let us know what you figure out.

if I'm not mistaken, all the engines from '86 on don't have that coolant passage from the rotor housing thru the intake, so it can't be that "O" ring.

So did you simply spill some Mountain Dew? Is that what it was?

Hehe, havent had mountain dew around the car for a while...

So if it isnt an o ring...

y aknow, i think that coolant does flow thru the lower intake. Because the turbo coolant return line goes out the top and into the lower intake....

I'll check it out.

Do turbo motors have that coolant line that comes out on the rear housing towards the intake manifold? N/A ones do, and right before my line went, there was a nice spot of coolant right where yours is iotus.

That is correct.

I tore apart a n/a intake last week, I am 99% sure there is no coolant going through the lim.

N/A motors dont have coolant passages in the lower intake manifolds like the 12a's and the turbo 13b's do.

There's a hose that runs from the rear iron to the fast-idle and BACV systems. Check that hose.

Yeah, the manifold probably whizzed on your engine... unless you drink Mountain Dew?
