what about when you shift from 2nd to 3rd, or 3rd to 4th?

Something in the clutch, but not exactly sure what. I don't think its the tranny syncros because you didn't mention any sound. Does it make a grinding sound? Do you know how to shift gears? You are using the clutch right? My cousin thought that all I was doing was moving the stick because she never drove a stick and didn't see the 3rd pedal.

try letting out the clutch slower, that may help with the jerking, also take it to your local service station and ask them to realign your clutch. whatever you do dont tell them your having problems with it, because they will try to sell you a new one, and they are expensive.

Just a thought,
try checking the hose between your AFM and T-body. When you shift gears the motor will rock just enough to cause a vaccum leak, thats when you get the jerking back and fourth. Don't just look at it on the car, take it off. Most of the time the crack is on the bottom of the hose.

From my experiences, they all jerk slightly when you shift; it's just due to the springs in the clutch and drivetrain slack/flex.

If it's bucking when you hold the throttle at a certain spot, then you need to do a tune-up.

At least post what the issue was so next time people can search and read the fix.
