Please Help 93 Auto tranny!!

Hey guys, Here is the problem I am trying to fix.

The trans is in some type of safety mode, it does not shift gears, the hold button doesnt work, in L you can go in second, anything other than that is 3rd. No first or 4th gear. Please give me some idea's on how to fix.

Bill

You could try resetting the ECU. Disconnect the battery, turn ignition to on and put your foot on the brake for more than 60 secs. Sounds daft but I think thats how you do it. Good luck

did you try any of the suggestions from the previous post??? There is no auto tranny limp home mode as far as I know. Rebuild it! I just had mine rebuilt. Get ready for $2K!

Did you try the key-on-key-off routine? This fixed my problem when my hold light was flashing.

Make sure you aren't low on fluid. I noticed mine took a bit longer to shift from 3rd to 4th when it was cold. My fluid level was borderline low. I added 16oz of tranny juice and now it's fine.
