One rotor not fireing

I did some searching and couldnt find much. Could you guys give me some ideas on why one of my rotors isnt fireing. I think I blew an apex seal, but Im really hoping thats not it, just curious of what else could cause that. Thanks in advance

could be a dead coil, i guess.
however, you can run a compression test on both sides or test it by taking the plugs out and checking to see how many chambers you have.

Would a bad coil show low compression on the gauge?

no ... bad coil just means no spark going to the rotor. i just threw it out there as a possibility. i really doubt the ignition though, it would be kind of odd losing both lead and trail on an FD. they're direct fire, right?

But wouldnt a bad coil result in the rotor not fireing like its supposed to which would cause it to not compress properly?

if i understand things correctly, yes, it is possible. i just don't think it's likely. essentially, if the rotor builds up with fuel and no spark, you'll clean away oil residues that help compression. keep in mind that the degree of effect would depend on wear or mileage.

however, instead of depending on theories and hypotheticals, why don't you just set your mind at ease by removing the plugs, putting some oil in the rotor (2 teaspoons or so) and turning it by hand OR running a compression test?

i don't know the FD's ignition setup very intimately, so for all i know i could be full of ****, but i think you should probably still have either a lead or trail still firing in the event that a coil dies.
