Hello to all I own an 88 gxl 5spd and im wondering what kind of oil and filter is best for my car. viscosity and brand recommendations would be quite helpfulll. I live in california if that makes a difference. thanks in advance ren------

 

I run Mobil1 full synth 10w30 winter and 15w50 summer and use oem filters. Change every ~2k miles. Granted, mine is a modded FD.

 

Do a search-You'll find each person has their own thoughts about oils,viscosity/brand. Filters a slightly different approach where most tout the OEM filter.
For my '89TII I use 20/50 summer, 10/40 winter, Fram filters.

 

I use havoline 20w50 summers, and 10w30 winters because it's free. I use the purolator pure one filter.

 

I have an 87 NA and use Castrol non-synthetic 20w-50 with the Mazda OEM filter.

 

In my racer I now use BP Course Plus, 25-60 with a repco filter.
