Nikki Idle adjustment - 83 12a fb all stock
Hi All,
New to rotary engines and having a challenge with getting low rpm idle on my 83 rx7 12a fb with rat's nest still intact.
Idles at ~1500-1800 when warm, ~1000-1250 in drive with brake on. In reading, the idle should be around 800-1000 while in drive with brake on. Other than potential long term damage to the tranny, any big issues running with this idle? Haven't found any vacuum leaks, floats are fine. Maybe the primary jets are little worn (larger than 91)?
Car set for 12 yrs (only has 55k miles), I did rebuild on carb, replaced gas tank, lines, plugs, etc. Engine has good power and will accelerate to 80mph no problem (around 4.5 grand). With the engine's ability to accelerate and have power at top end, not too concerned about getting compression numbers at this point in time.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
