what is proper idle for stock 12a?

I've seen a few threads from people saying that they can't get thier cars to idle below 1500. When I got mine it idled at 2000, is this too high? Whats 'normal' for a stock 12a?

As far as I know the car is a bone stock GS and it does have a rats nest and all the emissions goodies. It's a 5 speed if that matters.

Once I know what idle is I should be able to figure out how to adjust it using the Haynes manual and some basic car repair skills.

750 rpm when warm.
If you can't idle bel;ow that, you probably have a vacuum leak.
The posts you may be thinking of were about the SEs having a cold-start automatic choke system. (there were a few of those recently.)

750?!?! Aww hell. Hopefully it's just set wrong. I hate diagnosing vacuum leaks about as much as I like diagnosing electrical problems.

Ha!
I hate vacuum leaks too, but at least I can fix them.
The electrical gremlins love to tease me and leave me feeling helpless.
