Talking New Project

okay everyone, i have a project that i am about to undertake... any advice, assistance, criticism, whatever is appreciated. Here it is: I have two 12A motors, good condition that i am about to tear down and build into ONE motor. i am going to make it a 4 rotor engine. i have some ideas on the eccentric shaft, but have no one local who can do the machinework for me.... I will be running twin Distributors on it, as well as twin oil coolers and pumps and a really high output alternator to manage everything. The intake system is going to be a little tricky, as i didnt really want to do twin carbs.... any ideas on that one? I was thinking of custom making an intake manifold to run to a 700 holley, but i dont know if thats even gonna be enough... should i run two carbs on two seperate intake manis? exhaust is all going to be custom, but i will need someone to do that work for me as well.... Let me know what you all think... oh and the vehicle it is going into will be a stripped out shell of a 1980 SA. i will also need some help with the rear end, as i dont think it will be able to handle what is going to be coming back there....

The 787B won the LE Mans 24 hour race. Then the Rotary engine was banned from the race series because people fear what they don't understand I guess.

There is a company is England that custom builds 4 and 6 rotor engines. The name is on the tip of my tongue but I can't think of it at the moment. If I think of it I'll post a link to their site. Other then them, I think the next best think you will find on this site is people who have experience with Mazda's 3 rotor engine, the 20B (I'm sure you've heard of it). Its a factory engine, not one made from multiple parts from 2 rotor engines. I have a pic of one disassembled, though I don't own one and have no experience with them. I also have a pic of one installed in a 2nd Gen RX-7. Again, not my car. Hope maybe this can help a little seeing the parts and comparing them to what you have. Good luck and keep us posted. I'll give you a link to that company if/when I find it.

Ok, the site I was thinking of is www.hurleyrotary.com but after checking it out, I don't see anything about 4 or 6 rotor engines, just the 20B. You could shoot them an email and ask if they have any experience with more rotors because I think they did work with bigger rotary engines at one point.

Good luck.

rear end for the 4 rotor

I would suggest you go with a modified ford 8.8 rear end for that. It would take all the abuse you want. Also, Grannyspeed sells the already modified and bolt in ready for the first gen.

I think it's a great project but you take two 12a n/a that developed 100hp stock to make a four rotor that developed 200hp!!? If you port it and put a big carb, maybe you can make 300hp, but 300 is what a 13b-rew stock make exept you will make a lot of torque.

The project is great but the benefit aren't
