need some advice..

Hello,

I have a rather tough question. I am looking for another car, as my current project is nearing completion. I don't want a supra or 240sx. I have alot of knowledge and experience tuning and hoping up DSM's, but I am looking into a new project. I have a 1990 eagle talon TSI AWD that is running high 10's. I have put alot of time and effort into the engine and interior, however I am really looking at getting a different car. I am very interested in getting an RX-7 turbo. However, I am not sure as which direction I should go, either second or third? can anyone help?

Thank you, Mike

depends on your goals and pocket book. both cars can be made very fast straightline but the 2nd gen will be cheaper. however the 3rd gen, imo, is far sexier. the 3rd gen also handles better and you are starting with a far more potent package but also paying for it.

i would recommend picing performance parts for both gen's and go from there. you may also want to cruise the 2nd&3rd gen specifics and look at the problems everyone is talking about. get a hold of as much info as you can before deciding.the fact that you have a 10 second dsm shows $$$ isn't the top priority.cost between the gens is dramatic, but they both have there downfalls and good points.i daily drive a 2nd gen i bought for500 with routine maintenance, but i also will acquire a 3rd when i get the $ the third gens are more tempermental from what i'veseen/heard,but they also come stock twin turbo test drive a few,get a feel for $ and buy what feels right! have fun,and enjoy becoming a rotary nut,it is very addictive! rx7's were the car in japan that started the drift"rage" so it is a bonus!

I say go with a 2nd gen. Its more novel to see a hopped up 2nd gen that can blow the FDs away.

i agree on the 2nd gen, but then agian, we are biased in this section....it is great watching faces crinkle up when you are smiling and sliding by at 6-7k rpm on such an old car
