Thumbs up need to hit the gas a few times before starting on my 89 t2

so this happens about 95% of the time, any one know what the problem is ??

when you crank,
hold the gaz pedal all the way down.
dont push it many time.

also if you hold ur car at 3k rpm and turn the key off while depressing on the pedal,(this is like when you come home and are geting out of your car)when you go to start it the next time it should start with the turn of the key. RX7s flood thats that, the more you press half throtle on that pedal the more flooded it gets.

well when i get in i put in the key and put the clutch all the waydown and then trun the key, then if it dosnt go i hit the gas like tap it or if it needs to goinn w.o.t but its mostely tapping

it isn't getting enough fuel then.

when you stab the gas pedal quickly, the computer reads it and activates the "accelerator pump"...same thing as the pump on carburetors, just the computer does it with increased pulse width to the injectors.

make sure the fuel pump is getting enough voltage, change the fuel filter, clean the injectors, etc...
