Metering oil pump problems on REPU

I have a 1975 REPU with the 13b engine and I have been having problems with the metering oil pump. I can't seem to get any oil at all to pump through into the carb. I have tried several diffrent pumps and have checked all of the lines to be sure that they aren't pluged. The motor has been rebuilt and while it was apart I checked and cleaned the passage to the mettering pump in the front cover. After the rebuild it uses little or no oil. So far I have been mixing 2 cycle oil in the gas, but this causes the carb to need cleaning if it sits for very long. Has anyone else had any problems like this?? How much oil does the motor need to burn to keep from burning up?? I have heard around a quart every 800 miles but don't know if this is correct. Please help, I love the truck, but it sucks to rebuild the carb every time I want to drive it!!!!

I premix 2-stroke oil in my repu, I have no OMP and the REPU regularly sits for a week or more. I never had any problems with the carb getting gummed up, 2-stroke is made to not do that.

How much oil do you use when you mix, maybe I am using too much.

When I fill up with about 12 gallons of gas I put in only about 3-4 ounces. Not as much as some use but if you think about how much oil you go through when the OMP does work it usually isnt that much.
In both RX7's I have owned I never used even a quart (32 Oz.) between 3000 mile oil changes. In the REPU when I hit 3000 miles at 15mpg, that is 200 gallons or about 16 fill-ups. Putting in 3 Oz. per fill up is 50 Oz. total oil added or over 1.5 quarts.

How much oil have you been putting in?

The OMP doesn't pump oil like u think it does. It's not enough for u to actually see, I think it's only like 2-3cc's of oil a min. at WOT. If ur using a quart of oil about every 1700 miles or so, it working ok.

I have been mixing about 1 oz to every gallon of gas. I'll have to check to see exactly how much oil is being used between the 3000 mile changes. Thanks for you help
