Question Need Help Bad You Guys Will Know

THIS CAR SAT FOR 11 YEARS AND I BOUGHT IT I STARTED AND IT SMOKE SO BAD YOU WOULDNT BELEIVE IT ( WHITE SMOKE). AND HAS NO POWER BARELY PULLS ITS SELF. THE CAR HAS ONLY 67,000 AND IS A ONE OWNER 62 YEAR OLD MAN OWNED IT. I FILLED THE TANK AND IT BURNT A FULL TAKE OF GAS IN ABOUT 30 MIN OF IDLEING. AND SOMETHING ELSE I PULLED THE PLUGS AND PUT ATF FLUID IN AND ALL THAT STUFF AND NOTHING RAN GOOD FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS AND DIED AND DID THE SAME THING. AND WHEN YOU GIVE IT GAS YOU CAN HEAR SLIGHT METAL NOISE OR PINGING OR SOMETHING. I DONT GET IT THIS WAS NEVER ABOUSED OR HOTROD'D AND HAVE ALL RECORDS FOR THE CAR.

IAM ABOUT TO GIVE UP ON RX7'S I HAVE 9 OF THEM AND THINGS ARE A HEADACE.

THIS CAR SAT FOR 11 YEARS
There's the problem in a nutshell. It wouldn't matter if it only had 800 miles on it and then sat for 11 years, same thing most likely. Corroded water jackets along with who knows what else. The metal to metal contact noise you mentioned would be a humungous red flag.

What did the oil & water look like when you first changed it out?

If it had been properly set up for storage then whole other story.

Sorry I can't address any of the specific problems. It kinda sounds like that engine needs a rebuild.

Cheers

p.s. The ALL CAPS thing is considered yelling and a faux paux. Doesn't bother me really, it's just a convention.

Exactly, the reason is because it sat for so long.
It is recommended to redline a rotary once a day at least. Keeps carbon from building up in that engine.

It's not the RX-7 fault, it's your lack of knowledge about the RX-7 (no offence intended).

I can just imagine what that engine would look like if torn down. Corroded water jackets, tones of carbon inside housings, etc.
