low oil pressure
low oil pressure
seeing low oil pressure on my fairly recent rebuild..im at around 680 miles so far.
when trying to idle, around 1,000rpm im only seeing 30psi on th stock gauge. the car doesnt pull much vac during this, and if i push the clutch pedal just slightly the rpm/oil pressure/vacuum normally pick up.
at rpm above 2k im seeing around 60psi on the stock meter.
other things ive noticed...this condition doesnt happen when the engine is still relatively cold. the car is MUCH faster than when it isnt fully warmed up(maybe clutch slippage). theres a "sound" when the clutch is pressed in that changes with engine rpm. when fully warm, under WOT, the car feels a bit sluggish. normal AFR and boost pressures...also i can "smell" something after a hard boost run. i kind of suspect this is the smell of my clutch...but its a puck clutch so im not used to the smell :\
:edit: this is on an 88 t2

no ideas? im kind of curious if crushed needle bearing might cause this...
also the car exhibits hot start problems, i have to turn off my fuel pump and crank for a good 5 seconds if the engine is remotely warm.
