long starting, and some other questions...

it seems to take about 4 seconds of cranking for my 88' rx7 to start it when it is cold and warm. is this normal or not? if so what needs to be done? also when i try to do a burn out(just to test out the new tires) i drop the clutch at about 4,000rpm's and the car does not burn out for crap, it seems like the clutch just slips like no tomorrow, but the clutch has about 20,000miles on it. sorry in advance about these questions if they sound stuped, but i dont no crap about these cars.
