ignition not turning on

ignition not turning on

Hey guys I just got my 87 fc turbo 2 about 4 days ago and now when I turn the key the ignition isn't turning on. There's no voltage at the ignition I've check all the fuses and they're good I just can't figure this out and I really need help it does have an aftermarket alarm

If the ignition switch was receiving power, the wipers and turn signals would work w/key to the on position. Do they?

No they don't work there is no voltage
Going to any part of the ignition and its seems all the fuses are good and the relay on the drivers side fender closes when you put 12 volts through it I'm just stumped :/

No they don't the ignition has no voltage to any of it the fuses all seem to be good and the relay on the drivers side fender closes when I rum 12 v through it I'm just stumped :/

The ignition switched is powered by the Main fuse located in the engine fusebox. Check the fuse. The fuse is scewed into place (on the side of the fusebox) so it doesn't just pull out.

There are a few plugs connected to the ignition switch. One has two wires where one is a Black/White wire and the other is a solid Black wire. The Black wire is powered by the Main fuse thus it should have constant 12 volt power. Does it? If it doesn't then check the connection of the Black cable coming from the Main fuse ( found on the side of the engine fusebox closest to the windshield).

Check the actual ign switch . the key part may be moving but nor turning the actual switch . the plastic part with the wires that screws to the bottom of the key switch

I have not checked that one yet ill check that when I get home and get back as for the ignition being bad there should be constant voltage on one of the wires and there is no voltage on any of the wires

If I understand this post then you have no voltage on the Black wire at the ignition switch. If this is accurate then you need to see if the small gauge wire which runs to the engine fusebox from the positive battery terminal is connected properly. If the headlights work then that would tell you the engine fusebox is receiving power from the battery. If the headlights work then you need to check where the Black cable on the trailing coil side of the fusebox is connected properly as it should have 12 volts constant. If it does then about a foot below the engine fusebox lies a connector mating two Black cables to each other. One cable comes from the Main fuse and the other side of the connector runs to the ignition switch. If this connector is faulty then the ignition switch receives no power.
