ok i have an 85 rx7 that i just got.i started it and it revs high and wont stay running unless i give it gas.it has a rigged exhaust that has no cats.what could be the problem.i used seafoam and it helped a little but not much.could some please help me with this problem.if you could email me at torque47082@verizon.net

 

Check for vacuum leaks and inspect all of the hoses that go to the carburetor and emission equipment. In my signature is the link for the factory service manuals. Recommend you download a copy.

i checked for vacuum leaks and checked all the hoses and everything seemed fine.i got it to stay running but it idles between 1500-2000 rpms.but after it starts to warm up when you give it gas the rpms go up slow like something is holding it back.
