FD DRIVER WITH FC Q'S

I DRIVE A 93FD IVE ONLY PUT ABOUT 6,000 MILES OR SO BUT IVE BECOME VERY GOOD AT DRIFTING AND I DID IT ON ALMOST EVERY TURN I HAD A CHANCE TO. NEEDLESS TO SAY A LOTTA SH*T BROKE, SO WHILE MY CAR IS UNDERGOING ITS TRANFORMATION INTO A SUPERHERO I WANTED A RWD BEATER TO PRACTICE MORE, BUT IT HAS TO HAVE DESCENT POWER. WHAT I REALLY WANTED WAS A TOYOTA COROLLA GTS AND DO SOME MOTOR WORK, BUT THEY ARE SO RARE AND PEEPS TRYING TO SELL THEM FOR 3 OR 4 G'S, SO NOW IM TRYING TO DECIDE BETWEEN A 240 AND A FC, 240S COST A LIL MORE, BUT I THINK IT HAS A LOT MORE TORQUE. FINALLY MY QUESTION IS HOW MUCH REAR WHEEL HP CAN YOU GET FROM A N/A PORTED 12A WITH CARB UPGRADES N SH*T.BASICALLY HOW MUCH POWER CAN I GET WITH A BUDGET OF ABOUT 2 OR 3 G'S, NOT INCLUDING THE PRICE OF THE CAR.

1st. turn off the damn caps lock.

2nd. stop hijacking this thread. If you have a new topic, create a new thread.

3rd, FCs have a 13B and make more power then a 12A, which is found on a first gen car.

4th. As far as power, there is no magic number that says if you get this exhaust, these fuel injectors, this intake, that computer, and XYZ clutch, you will have this amount of HP and this amount of TQ.

sheesh ... don't we ALL!!!

i will risk eating my words and say that there is NO one site that's gonna give you ALL info on an Rx-7. you've gotten great advice/help from chris-reedtn, stripgear and project84, so anything else i have to say would be redundant.

just hang around here ... keep an open mind and use a little common sense, pretty soon you'll be able to know who and what's for real and who and what is full of "kaka" (sp?) ... this place is an absolute gold mine of Rx-7 info!

(also maybe try www.mazspeed.com - it's a little less laid back, but the guys are not snotty ... hell, a lot of them are from here, so ... welcome and good luck)

Check out the "race car tech" section. Thats where the guys who drift, autocross and drag race normally hang out. Tell them what you want (HP and performance wise) and they will tell you what you have to do to get it. They will point you in the right direction for buying parts and all that stuff. Good luck with your project

The best way to learn about the RX-7, is to search/read, ask questions (be careful with incorrect or biased information on these boards), and working on the car yourself (taking the time to understand what it is you are doing). On that note, many of the stereotypes surrounding the 3rd gen. and modifying them, are either not true, or misinterpreted.
