Sweet. I'm going to be getting that same radiator when I get around to installing everything else lying around my house. I don't think you'll have any problem at all. Just make sure to pay close attention and don't rush it at all. I would get a hose kit from hosetechniques.com if I were you. They make one for the 86-91 FCs ( I think it says turbo model, but makes no major difference). I will give you some advice for the hose install:

1. Only cut and replace one hose at a time.

2. Be VERY CAREFUL removing the old hoses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't stress this enough!!! I broke 2 solenoids, and a bobber by trying to remove old vac lines. They get stuck on their damn good over the years. I had some that actually snapped because they were so brittle! Anyway, be especially careful with the solenoids. The nipples on them are very weak and brittle. If necessary, then run some warm water on them for a while to soften them up.

3. Most of the hoses that fit on secure nipples, can be broken loose with the turn of some pliers. Just make sure to refrain from using the pliers on the brittle plastic nipples, or if you do use them be VERY VERY careful or you WILL break parts.

4. DO NOT put any silicone hoses in place of high pressure fuel or brake lines. It is illegal, and you will definitely know if you put a hose on a fuel line that you weren't supposed to.

That's all I can really think of for now. If you need some pics or anything, then email me and I'll post them ASAP.

Good luck,
Derek

......

i just got my rad in today also i got my silico hoses from hosetech also i got my new plug/wire set from ngk today also i got my new gaskets for manifold, intake penulum and air chamber today, also i got my new brake pads toady. now i will have fun putting them in. HOW hard is it to get the hoses on the nipples out? it is really that hard to get them off without breaking the nipples? what if i try cutting the hoses with exacto knife around the area where the hose attaches to the nipple?

I was hoping to save all my old hoses in case I need them, but some were obviously ruined anyway. I mean, you have to be EXTREMELY careful, even when just cutting them. Some may even feel more like plastic since they are so brittle. Even putting pressure on the nipple when cutting it could break it off inside the old hose. Just make sure to secure the nipple with your hand on the opposite side you are cutting, so that it doesn't snap off. It was unbelievable how fragile some of them were. Especially the nipples that connect the very small hoses. You'll be fine if you just think ahead a little bit, do some examining before you jump into removing a hose, and TAKE YOUR TIME. Remember, for the nipples that are more solid (metal or thick plastic), it is easiest to grip with a set of pliers (not too hard, but hard enough to secure the hose), and twist as if screwing or unscrewing something. You should hear it break loose, and then it should pull off with little effort. Good luck.

Also, hot water helps to soften up the hoses if they seem extra stuck and you are worried about breaking a nipple. If you have to, you can remove an inline bobber, etc. by removing the entire set of hoses (when in an inline group) and run it under hot water for a while and gently pry the end of the hose away from the nipple. You'll see what I mean.
