Haven't started my RX in 3 months

Haven't started my 88 RX in 3 months, and now (even with a full battery) she dosen't want to crank over. It ran perfect till I shut it off for the last time.

Almost sounds like it's flooded, but I know that can't be the case. It tries to start with the same high whiney crank sound as a serious flood, only with a little bit of compression, but not near enough to crank it over.

Do I need to lube the roters with tranny fluid to get compression?
What do you guys think would be the first thing to check?

Prime the fuel system, check the spark, then ATF it if that doesn't work.

Un-Flood

Just in case it MIGHT be flooded, this is what I do:

You gotta open your fuse box (which i by ur battery) and take out the EGI fuse (on yours it might be EGI comp, its just EGI on my '90).

Now get in ur car, push the pedal to the floor, and crank it for a good 15 seconds.

Get out, put the fuse back in, and then crank ur car without any foot on the gas.

Even if it is flooded, this might not help. It can take several repeats of that procedure when it is flooded, and if it isnt flooded, its just a waste a time. Ur car's gonna make some NICE smoke when ya start it though.

I'll try the "unflood trick" (Been there done that). Thats kinda what it sounds like.

How do you prime the fuel system?

Sometimes it helps to take out the plugs and blow them off so there is no fuel on them...or replace them if that hasn't been done in the last 20K

My Haynes Manaul says to "prime" the fuel system you put a "jumper wire" on the yellow "test connector" that is right behind the air box actually behind the air flow meter. Sometimes its hard to find. Mine is a yellow plastic connector with 2 pins and it has a black oval shaped rubber boot over it. Mine was hanging under the air intake rubber tube that big ribbed section.

Once you jumper that, turn the key on for 10 seconds. The fuel pump will turn constantly. Then shut off key and pull the jumper wire off.

It also helps to spin the engine over without the plugs in it to blow out the excess raw gas, works for me anyway.
