I'm out of ideas at this point, fresh rebuild by me( own a machine shop) all new corner, side, oil, apex seals, oil rings and bearings. All new soft seals. Flowed and tested injectors w new seals an dif seals. Everything was measured and within factory specs. Housings in mint condition and iros are new from atkins.Psi is 110 and 112. New plugs rotor, cap and wires. Timing is correct ( I believe ) and ecu and maf are the same and worked fine before I lost an old apex. Getting fuel and spark, turns over but won't fire. Ran for about 2 minutes then won't fire back up, pulled and cleaned plugs a dozen times.

well, since you expressed some doubt in timing, start there. are you getting any pops or signs of combustion at all?

Pops when you crank for 3 sec then just sound like its rolling over. I have the timing on the crank pully set at leading and the dizzy set between the two pick ups. I did have to loosen the two screws on the vacuum dia and adjust it so it would line up. I have spark at all four plugs and bench tested the ignighters; all good. Never had this problem with the four others I built, they all fired right up

between rebuilds and various other reasons i've had to remove and reset distributors and CASs, i must have hit the triple digits by now (or maybe approaching it) and a few years ago i built a 12A and set the timing with great confidence. it wouldn't fire without Seafoam ... took me until the following day to put a light on it and sure enough the timing was a tooth off. knife, fork, crow ... reset it ... problem solved. guys with greater skills and experience than us have probably had the same or similar happen.

my point? take nothing for granted.

clear the chambers. reset timing. maybe throw some fresh[er] plugs in it and start round 2.

Ok, I've ohm's tested and circuit tested all electrical; from the coils to the igniters and even ohm's tested the plug wires, everything in spec, compression f-108 w 3 even bumps, r-112 with three even bumps. Fuel is pumping and injectors are working( we're also flowed and cleaned). This bitch will still not fire off. I have to be missing something

Deflooded 50+ times 8 sets of new plugs 5 oil changes. The dynamite sounds good, about to sell cheap or part it

Gotts be timing if its drenching your plugs. Just walk away for a couple days, gather your cool than attack again, you may have a AHA, I'M A DUMBASS moment and fix that one little thing and it fires right up

i hope you don't take this the wrong way, but how are you aligning the distributor before you install it? i just read post #3 and i have never had to mess with the pots (unless i'm misunderstanding you) to line it up for install.

are you lining the dimple/divot up with the tab?

Yes the tally marks on the distributor and gear are aligned as well as the leading timing mark on the pulley ( I've checked also on rotor to pulley position also)I've built 4 13 b na's, 2 tII's, I also but my 20 b fd and never had one act like this.

well, not being there with you i'll start grasping at straws and throwing random ideas .... i know you must be getting filled with frustration.

what about the injector wires? have you tried reversing them from how they are currently plugged?

Finally figured it out, no matter what position I bolted the pulley to the e shaft, the timing marks would not line up. Removed inspection cover- lined up the counterweight and she fired right up. After a few adjustments on the dizzy and timing light she's good to go!
