Question gas leak from cap

The other day I noticed that there was a good amount of gas had leaked from the gas cap. I have noticed a few other times that there had been a little bit of gas leaking from this area, but this seemed to be a bit extream. I would appreciate some ideas on what to do. The cap seems to be sealed and tight when I put it on, but then seems like it may have loosened a little bit after driving. Thanks for your help guys.

As pressure builds up inside tank, cap isn't supposed to leak, because of emissions. If cap is indeed not tight after driving, I would try another one. In fact, a lot of these cars on a hot day, when you loosen the cap you'll hear the pressure escape.

The cap is supposed to be vented.

I have open lines that used to go to the charcoal cannister. When my cap went bad, pressure built up and caused gas fumes to come out of the open lines under the hood.

I suggest that you buy a new factory Mazda cap.
