Frame

Hi

I am still looking for the right rx7 for me. I have found another one. The seller has sent me pictures of underneath the car, so I can see frame and frame rail.

Does this frame rail look in good condition?

Many Thanks

Thanks Iduley. If you look closely at rail, does the rail look bent or damaged?

My car has a ton of dents from lifting the car, possibley bottoming out. I would be mostly concerned if there were any areas where the car has been in an accident, and effecting the chasis straightness. Or if its been in an accident and the chasis was repaired. The cars are getting old, so its just going to be harder and harder to find these cars in cherry condition.

I recently met a forum member that bought a cherry s5 gtus, but he paid 7K! It was a clean chasis though

I say that frame looks really good, better than my 107K frame. Those little ripples in the frame I wouldn't worry about, like Gross said, jacking the car up, bottoming out (easy in these cars) those are somewhat minor. I would have to say the underneath of that car is quite good

that looks pretty good also. I would consider asking a well known body shop for a pre purchase inspection. Ask then to see what kind of damage and/or repairs there are. They might have a good eye for paint jobs, body panels not aligned, reattatched body/chasis pieces and repairs. Of course with rx7's, the engine condition is always unknown.

It looks fine..
You should see some of the Shiiit that I've seen on other cars selling for prices like 5K...Buckled/Jack stand dented frames, holes in floor rust buckets!
Yours looks pretty clean actually.

Now on another note:

Just to add that even though the Car's frame rail can get bent by the jack(as I have repeatedly seen and honestly done myself..SHITTTT!) the integrity of the car is like 99.9% uncompromised.
There are specific jacking points on the car that you can use to lift the car up Or you can use a nice solid span of wood to distribute the weight when jacking the car up.

Do you have any other pics of the car and what he is asking for it?
We can put this Puppy to bed and you can go for a Drive..(heh,heh,.,in your NEW car..with old car smell!)
