Fog lights

Fog lights-image-1163197113.jpg
Hey I finally got my fog lights and install it yesterday but it wasn't easy due to the fact is when I plug it in didn't want to work so I had to connect to the head lights but can any one tell me what could cause that electrical problem?

S4 or S5? Did you originally hook it up using the fog light switch? If you did did you check the fog light fuse? It powers the fog light relay used in this circuit.

You state you plugged the lights in. What did you plug them into?

If the car had previously had fog lights then it would also have the switch and relay. The switch is normally located in the center console. If the car did not come w/the fog lights then it might have been wired to some degree to accept fog lights. One more time w/feeling, S4 or S5??? The factory wiring should have had 2 wires to the fog lights w/one wire being Red/Black and the other wire Black.

The relay would be found next to the dimmer relay. These relays are to the side of the driver headlight and in front of the bumper and behind the radiator (the fog light relay has 4 wires and they are; Red/White, Red,Yellow, Red/Black and Black). If you don't have the switch and relay then you would do as you had to and wire it in on your own, but you risk placing perhaps too much resistance on the current wiring and then maybe damage to the circuit used.

If you look at the S5 wiring diagram it will illustrate how the switch, relay and fogs are wired up.
