engines

Hey all,

Just joined the forum here b/c I need some good advice on engines. I got 3 Rx7's and all need engines. Got an engine from this place called Atkins Rotary last year and man was it ****. Didn't run right from the start, and my mechanic said it had bering failure. I have a couple buddies that got their engines from the same place and they got the run around when their engines went bad from the same thing. The word is these guys never honor their warranty. So I didn't even want to bother with the stress, especially since my emails were ignored by tech support. So here is my question: WHERE CAN I GET A DECENT ENGINE??? Should I go new or risk another rebuilt failure?

I can help you out with a low cost engine if you are interested. I do not build race engines, but I build reliable stock repalcements and porting is also available. Price is usally around $1000-1400 depending on year, model, damage, and options.

For more info check out http://hypntyz.rx7life.com/rebuildpage.htm

For references, ask around in the 2gen section...a few of those guys are running my engines around now. PM groundzero(do a member name search, his name is spelled funny) as he is running around with 2 of my engines right now.

Did you flush your oil cooler?, Did you have the radiator flushed? Did you replace the waterpump? You MUST READ the warrenty and abide by all the conditions that the SELLER prescribes. This is why 90% of all warrenty claims are not honored. The peeps try to save some money by not doing all the steps!

BTW, PINEAPPLE RACING has the BEST warrenty in the rotary rebuild business and ROB ROCKS!

Hayes Rotary. They've been in the business for 25 years. Only one person rebuilds the engines. The owner.

They have it down to a science! 2 of my friends have had their engines rebuilt by hayes, and they love it!

RX77 Specialties also does excellent rebuilds and ships worldwide, though they don't ship to the US much. They're a few hundred less than Atkins and have comparable warranties.

Thanks, I talked to Hayes a while back and the guy was totaly cool. Talked to me for a long time giving me tech advice. I got 3 cars I want to fix up and sell but need to decide where to get the engines first, got to really do some background checking this time around, thats for sure!

Hayes has ripped me off and has not honored their warrinty so far. Do not go with them!

Hayes has built motors for Garfinkle and they treat him right , one motor had a bearing fail ( 68 miles ) and hayes built Gar another motor with out a word of protest at no more cost. Gar does not build motors any more because a Hayes motor is to good of a deal.
