Can I use an 87 NA engine to put in an 87 turbo II and make that a turbo engine? What are the differences besides the turbo between 87 NA and 87 Turbo II? i.e. tranny, gear ratio, exhaust, compression etc... Thanks Gary

 

you should do a search in the 2nd Gen forum. There was a whole big thread on this very subject 2 or 3 days ago.

 

After '85 N/A's are 6 port and turbo's 4 port.

 

you can still turbo the 6 ports... but longer intake duration with higher compression requires better tuning and better fuel system.
