Engine issues
Hello everyone, First Iwould like to state that I am a Newbie to this board. Second I woould like some advice about my situation. I just purchased a 93 r1 that has some issues. Basically it is a salvage vehicle that was totaled because of a theft recovery and the they couldn't get the engine to run. I put all the Fuses back in and the engine will turn over and start but it acts like there is no compression or power at all I think there is a vaccum or Electrical problem, or an apex seal. After starting the car the engine shakes and trembled going through 1K and then evens out about 2K, then it goes back down under 1K and ides fine. However if you press down on the gas it revs a little slow, but if it is in gear it will almost die completely. Also if I turn on the AC it kills the engine. So I ask when an apex seal blows does the engine smoke? Mine smokes when first started which I hear is normal then is seams fine. Now I know you all are going to say take compression readings, that is not what I am posting this for really. I am going to take the car to mostly imports in Stratford CT on Tuesday and let them figure out the engine condition. What I am in need of help on is most the electrical harness was disconected and have tried to get everything reconnected. But I am not fully sure. Again this is something that the mechanic can look at first. But if there is anyone in Milford CT with a little time that wouldn't mind taking a look, I would happily provide some Brew.

I think that Vac leaks is a good place to Start, the truth be known, I purchased the car thinking I was going to need to replace the engine or turbos. If I can get this car to run I'll be happy but if it needs an engine then it is pineapple time. I think I need to get the electrical straight first, the oil preasure guage is not reading anything. And today I moved it 20 feet and I had to slip the clutch because it dies when you let out the clutch all the way. I will definetly take it to a mechanic but I would like to get a head start on it. It has an apexi dual intake so I can hear the BOV working. I am new to rotaries, Kinda, and I read alot. But I am pretty mechanically inclinde but this is one complex beast. ank you for the advice. T
