86 NA wont start PLEASE HELP!
Okay, I have been going through some stuff with the FC I just bought. Now the starter will spin, it DOES pop out, and it sounds like it isnt making contact with the flywheel though. When you try to crank, the starter goes, but none of the accessory belts or anything turns.
I manually turned the pulley the fan is on by hand (i assume that is similar to the crank pulley on piston car) and It turned, so the motor is not seized.
Suggestions? I need to get this sucker running... I know for sure Imll still have to do a tranny swap once I get it to run, and it might need a fuel pump...

When you pull out the starter look into the bell housing, take a look at the ring gear on the flywheel. Do the teeth look ok? Has the car ever started since you bought it? Sounds to me like the starter is not engaging the flywheel, or the ring gear teeth on the flywheel are broken/chipped off, or well lets just leave it at that for now (I don't want to throw to many possibilities all at once).

Ill bet ya a dollar you forgot to wire up the silinoid wire so it pops out to the flywheel when you try and start it! or the wire is crunched! had the same problem
