Recently I've bought a 1982 GX the previous owner did not have any mechanical abilities. First off he pulled the distibutor, then screwed around with the carb. When that did not work it just sat in his garage for about 18 months . The engine starts Quickly, and Idles erratically. I would like to properly set the timing and adjust the carb so that the car does not stumble, or die when shifting to the upper gears. I have noticed that the Shutter / coasting valve is howling, I am told that this is not good and it must be replaced. any help would be appreciated.
