Emergency question...

So I was replacing the oil injection lines.

And I neglected to tape-over the intake runners on the L-LIM.

You can guess what happened.

My question is, how much damage will that copper washer cause if I leave it in there and turn-over/start-up the engine?

I saw your post on this in the 1st gen section. Yes, it can (probably will) cause detrimental damage if you start the motor with that in there. Get it out.

Where in Michigan are you?

Ah. Any interest in Autocrossing? If you're not sure what that is, check out the link in my signature line. Pay 20 bucks, borrow a helmet (loaners available) and you're racing in an event where it's damn near impossible to injure yourself or your car. Lots of fun.

Our local club is www.furrin.org

Otherwise, we (the Michigan Rotary Club) usually have a few meets per year.

Would it solve the problem to remove the exhaust manifold, slowly hand crank the engine until the wahser makes it way to the exhaust, and use needle knose pliers to wiggle it through the exhaust sound reducer things to freedom(if they are equiped?

I dropped a Rubber Grommet from an Injector in the Lower manifold when I was changing injectors on my Turbo engine.Ya..I Freaked.
The Grommet ended up at Just the Start of the Keg's opening for the Intake.I took the lower manifold off and it was "right there"..I was relieved there.,and then Put everything back together again..and I learned a Lesson.Cover your Manifold Holes when working on anything in that area.
..SO,BEST BET,take your Turbo and manifold off(one piece) and then take your lower manifold off and retrieve the Copper Crush washer.
...
Because I really don't think that the Washer has made it INSIDE the engine.

Probably should have notified that the issue was resolved. Took off the ACv, aux-port actuators, and then the LIM. Washer had been 'chuted' horizontally at the port and had wedged in the opening, about half inside, half outside. Didn't even have to pull the LIM all the way off, just yanked out the washer and threw the nuts back on.

Of course after everything's reassembled and secure, one of the oil injection lines isn't filling and the aux ports won't come online...
