cost to convert auto to manual?

I am selling my Automatic '93 RX-7 and was wondering what to tell someone if they ask how much it would cost to convert it to a manual. Can anyone out there give me a range to make the conversion (parts and labor)?

It would depend on who did the labor and whether or not the parts are new or used. Usual people do it themselves, saving the labor cost, and obviously new parts are going to be more $$$ than used ones. With a 2nd gen RX-7 like mine, it would be cheaper getting parts (new or used) than for a 3rd gen like yours. To try to give you an idea of what has to be done, go to this web site. This guy does the work and was nice enough to post the needed parts and instruction online.

At the top, click on TECH From there, select the link that says Automatic to manual transmission converstion parts list and procedures. And like I said, whether you do the work yourself, and used new or used parts will determine the cost. This procedure is written for a 86-91 RX-7 (2nd gen) but I hope it helps to clear things up a bit.
