Corvette coils on an RX-7?
I have heard that some people - notably home-build pilots who use rotary motors in their planes - that Corvette coils will work in an RX-7. Is this true? If so, which coil would that be?
I ask because coils for RX-7s are getting expensive (at least here in Canada), and the coils for Corvettes are cheap.

i'm using them.
one thing to note: i burned out a set of leading coils when i had the ignition in waste spark mode. this might be isolated, or maybe they weren't designed to be fired that fast. since i switched to sequential ignition, i haven't had any problems.
i'm using stock gm coils on the trailing, and 2 msd ls1/6 replacement coils on the leading. spark is strong and no breakup up to 16psi so far.
i couldn't say if the stock computer would make these work properly...haven't tried it yet.
do you have an ems?
