Question coolant warning

I have recently bought a 92 type R and have no owners manual. the coolant warning buzzer comes on until the engine warms up and then it goes off. I have topped up the coolant bottle but to no avail. should I be putting coolant elsewhere?

You must not be in the US, I checked into that Type R thing. And your thing says you are from Leeds, where ever that is.

you may have a faulty sender which, when warm and expands creates contact within, thus shutting off your buzzer.

92 type r's are rare. i'd shrink wrap it and keep it in the garage.

1) Fill the radiator, not the coolant overflow. Take off the metal pressure cap and top the radiator off. Run the car till it warms up with the heater on. Shut it down and then take the cap off and refill it again. Drive it normally and check it whenever you get a chance for a few days. There may still be some air bubbles that won't work thier way out for a week or so.

2) Leeds is in England.

If I'm not mistaken, Leeds is in England. That is east of you about 6500 miles.
