carb/fuel injection
carb/fuel injection
I have a 83 xr7 with 20000 miles on rebuilt engine with carburator. The body is so-so the interior poor. I just bought another 83 which is in all around good condition with a blown motor that has fuel injection. To save some time in switching out motors can I leave all the cables etc. and put the fuel injection on the motor that has the carb? One main reason is the car with the carb has cables to the carb for manuel choke, cruise and pedal.
Sure u can, the only thing changing is the engine block. Remove the carb and intake from the good engine, put it in the better body, and put the intake of that car on the engine.
What kind of fuel injection '83?
They never had that factory in '83. In fact, the 12A never came with fuel injection in ANY year (except for the Japan-only 12A Turbo) so it probably has a 13B engine swap in it. You can't put 13B stuff on a 12A without a lot of work. Best to find out exactly what you have before you get any ideas.
