Unhappy Car won't start, help please

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie to the RX-7 and have a problem. I had bought the car from a good neighbor friend and the car ran perfect, nothing wrong. Well I washed the motor and drove it back home, then the next day I went out to start it and nothing. Power comes on, but no start or signs of trying. I don't know what to think or where to start since, I own a SHO and that's the only motor I know like the back of my hand(YAMAHA, 3.0L, 24 VALVE, DOHC, V6). Is there a easy fix here or just a wasted motor? I have no idea with this super weird motor, any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

does it even turn over? if so, maybe it's just condensation in the dist cap. dry it out and give it another try.

Relax, we aren't here to serve people. You posted your question in one of the least visited forums. What year is your car? You probably got the distributor or ignition coils wet.

If your car is a 1st generation, (79-85) you will get faster responses in that forum. Same for 2nd gen (86-92) and 3rd gen (93-95).

Okay, thanks I didn't know what forum to post this on and it's a 88. The car is completly dry for 2-3 years, once it didn't start after the wash I just left it and used the SHO, but know the clutch went out in the SHO and I would think the RX-7 would be a easier fix other the a $350 clutch itself w/out installation which I perfer to do myself. Thanks and I'll be posting in the second gen. forum.

Could be just flooded. look around for the "how to unflood" post, very common for rotaries.

he meant did you wash it by hand or did you just use a hose to wash down the engine by just squirting a bunch of water in there without knowing what your doing

listen if you not willing to hear us out and answer a few little questions we're not going to be able to help you. and what kind of work do you have in this 9sec SHO? and is that 0-60 in 2.25 sec. hard to believe that you know that much about building up your Yamaha, but you cant get your car to start. begin with the basics air, fuel, ignition, compression.
see what you can do, and get back to me with you SHO mods.
