Hey guys, i have a question. I just bought a 93 rx7. the guyt i bought it from says that after he put the down piupe that the car starts to idel funny. the thingis when im in nuetral, the cars idle jumps from 15000 rpm to 2500 rpm, just goes up and down. when i turn the lights on it stays at 2. i tookit to a few guys around here that work on them, oen guy didnt know what the hell he was talking about. told me if i get a new intercooler it would work and was trying to sell me awhole rack of stuff. took it to another guy and he says that the lower intake manifold is leaking and if i dont get it fixed that it would blow my engine out of the bay... the car, engine and turbos are fine but i dont knwo what to do. he wants to charge me $800 for the labor alone.. which iks better than the other guy.. can anyone helpme?

It sounds like a vaccumme leak, FD are usually expensive to work on so expect to pay a pretty penny.

irradic idles are caused by fluctuations in either compression, vaccumme pressure, or a bad map sensor. dosent matter if it's a FD FC or FB.
