Can I pull the motor with the trans???

I wanted to know if anyone has pulled the motor out with the trans still attached??? If so how high up does the car need to be? It is a pain in the ***???

The reason I'm asking is I'm pulling the motor and I'm also pulling the trans for a 5th gear syncro change. It would be easier to pull them both at once then seperate them when outside the car.

So what do ya think?

Oh yea, this is for a 3rd Gen

Thanks,
STEPHEN

Jack the *** end of the car up, leave the front on the ground, and use a load leveler.

100 times easier pulling the engine with the tranny still attached. Just remember to pull the stupid shifter out. I forgot to do that when I was doing an sr20det swap

Last week someone posted pics of it in the 3rd gen forum. It's good stuff, you should really check it out.

HEHE, yea that was my thread also.

Pulling the motor with the tranny was cake. The only thing is i found out its much easier to take the motor mounts off the motor!!! I struggled with getting it out for a good while then unbolted the mounts and it slid out like pecker out a hot *****!!!! lol

I even left the downpipe on!!!

I'm just curious to see how it going back in will be
