Question Bridge Porting

Hi, ive currently got a std 12a in a mazda 323 station wagon (1985) over here in new zealand now i have noticed that 2 of my end plate and rota housing seals have started to leak small amounts of oil due to the engine being over heated about 3 times in a row.

Anyway I figure might as well pull apart the engine replace the seals and ive got hold of some bridge port intake and exsaust porting templates, and i figure what the heak might as well port it out (the cars tricked out atm anyway).

Heres my question, my fuel pump is a little grunty thing so i think that will be sweet, but what other factors do i need to take into account?

My exsaust is currently a 2 1/4 basically straight though quite loud.
Apparently the engine was rebuild 6000kms before i got it, but sat around for a good 3 years, so i would say the apex seals are ok etc. Apart from the side seals which have been melted alittle or what not.
Its a carby and i feel that the carb can handle the new fuel requirements.

Whats the steps involved, im no fool but never done a port before.
1, pull apart engine
2, port it
3, new seals
4, rebuild
5, re tune it

?? any input would be great
Cheers.
