Blowing a smoke screen

If I am driving the car hard, take it up to red line with full boost. Soon as I llet off the gas I have a james bond smoke screen come out the exhaust. I think it is my turbos, they have a coolant leak in them. but I am just checking with you guys.

Thanks,
Eric

Noooooo.

Stock turbos are oil cooled.

You have a coolant leak in your engine. If its white smoke. Bluish smoke means check for oil leaks and try changing the oil.

I was told that they have both, oil and coolant. I do have an oil leak which seem not able to find. Would that have something todo with this?

Thanks,
Eric

Could it be bad seal or turbo, that is the question.

Yeah, you didn't tell us what your mods are or anything, but if you're like me....you run richly safe at the top end....that (black) smoke is just lots and lots of fuel. Not much to worry about unless other things are suffering.

sorry my mods are
Pettit street ported engine
ecu unlimited
dp, mp ,cb
pulleys
intake
bov
turbo timer
10'' ingition wires
all hoses silicon
thats the main stuff. The smoke does have a blueish tint to it and it is pretty thick. I think the turbos are just going out.

Your problem is the termal pellet. I just got done fixing the same issue on my rx7. The copper o-ring is either failing or has caused the bolt in the end of the acentric shaft to come loose. I was putting oil in about about once a week. Though it suck I have to admit. The amazing smoke screen it causes is rather funny.

Thanks I will try it this week and see if that does the trick. I am road racing the car this weekend and I do not think they would like it if I started to blow smoke everywhere.

Are you sure, I was told that only happens if it is blowing smoke even at idle. I think that you are right. After looking around for awhile the oil leak seemed to becoming from that area.
