Behive oil cooler???

So I've decided to go with the behive oil cooler on my car, and I don't know much about it.

I've seen some pictures of engine bay's with these things equipped, but that doesn't give me much insight.

So looks like it takes the high pressure oil feed from the filter pedestal and directs it through whatever heat exchanger it uses. BUT then it has two other high pressure oil feed lines. One comes from the front cover and the other goes to the rear iron. Are these two necessary? Could I just block off the external lines and run the high pressure oil from the top oil feed (the internal line that runs under the "MAZDA" etching on the housings)?

The coolant passage seems very simple. No questions there.

The front cover one is the output from the oil pump. The lower rear iron one is the input to the engine.

In a front mount oil cooler, the front cover is the top connection on the cooler and the bottom is the supply to the rear iron.

The hardlines connections are required for the beehive.

To add to that, with the beehive, the large hardline is what takes the oil from the oil pump to the oil cooler and filter.

Both outlets to the engine (at the oil filter pedestal boss) are still needed, as one goes to the oil passages in the engine, and the other goes to the oil pressure regulator.
