Anybody use castrol gtx full synthetic? Im asking because I might be able to get a good dela on castrol full synthetic

I always though synthetic was bad because carbon build up. My PO...no.

if you are refering to the manual, that was back in the day when synthetic was just coming around. now days, synthetic is made of small molecules, thus making it easier to flow. so it is perfecly safe to use synthetic in rotaries....btw i use mobile 1 full synthetic. its the best besides royal purple.

Castrol GTX is also great, Quaker State Q is also great as well. hope this clears up the synthetic issue for ya.

Thanks guys. Ive read about hte other oil before on previous posts. I was jsut wondering about Castrol because my friend is going to get me a good deal on it. Thanks!

Just make sure it's FULL synthetic. Castrol Syntec isn't good for your engine because of carbon build-up, but something like Mobil1, Neo, RP or Redline is fine.

I use castrol GTX 10w 40 non-synthetic... burns better and thats what the FSM calls for for my climate.


Why spend more money on something that isnt called for? If you change your oil every 5000km it doesnt really matter.

I'm considering the synthetic because I blocked off my omp. Its a little pricey though, so im debating

if you blocked off the omp i hope to god you are running premix!!! just get some mobile 1 synthetic and run premix and youre engine will love you.
