Anyone swapped in an 13bre???

Hey wuss up people. I got a red 91 vert. It currently has a turbo II engine on it but I blew after my boost spiked. I pulled the engine out and when I pulled it apart it was no good so I threw it away. I was looking into gettin a 13bre I could get them real cheap with tranny and everything. harness is not a problem since I got the haltech. But let me know what guys think.

Yo Dude, those engines work quite well actually. I have a friend who had one in a 1st gen Rx7 w/E6K and the best he did was about a 10.2sec on the 1/4 mile. SO , sounds like a good plan, once the motor is built & tuned properly !!

Ok first off, haltech has to be tuned, ALot of money, and maybe a new motor depending on who is tuning it. You have to get new motor mounts, not a problem, about 300bucks total. It shouldnt really be that hard, there are alot more of ""little things"" that you'll have to change, and a bigger radiator, and fuel pump also.

ANd i cant believe that you threw the old motor away, that was like 300 bucks that you could have gotten out of it depending on how good it is.

Tuning the haltech is no problem, I had it tuned before. THe 13bre is going through a rebuild right now and a bp. O and about my old engine. If I got $25 for it it wouldve been too much. THe front housing was filled with water and the rotors and **** were all messed up.
I couldnt even get the seals out. the housings were all scraped up not even sanding them down would've helped. People thanks for the help. I talked my shop into doing the complete swap for a reasonable ammount of money, since I've done alot of business with them
