AFR leaness cause heat ?

All,

something came across my mind today. i was tuning for a perfect AFR for my car.
trying to push AFR 14 to 15 on cruise and idle.

i know that the Ignition timing if too retarded, it will cause high heat, too advanced will cause knockings.

my question is....

does AFR 14 to 15 causes alot of heat ?

of course it does. you tune for the best peak torque then bring back some.

dev likes to hunt for my post :P

then i guess i need to bring it down to AFR 13 on high vacuum and idle...
just worried if the amount of heat is giving my O2 sensor shorter life span.
