3rd gen's reliable daily driver??

I was curious if a 3rd gen can be made a reliable daily driver. if i removed the power steering and smog equipment, would it free up space in the engine bay? and if i trashed the twins and went with a single turbo, would it help out too? just kinda worried. i want a FD soo bad but i'm just kinda gunshy becuase of the "stories" i hear. i have a '98 mustang GT right now which i dont like and possibly thinkin about gettin a 3rd gen. if anyone could help me out i'd appreciate it alot.

Engine REALLY needs to be rebuilt if it's original.&nbp The original water seals are suspect...

FD's can be daily drivers. I run stock twins with smog pipe removed with many mods. FD's are much better than mustangs....Personal experiences on how many I have killed....

You will NOT get better reliability out of performance mods like big single, ECU, etc. There are a set of mods to increase 3rd gen reliablility on these popular RX-7 sites.

In what kind of race? You'd have to have a fairly beefed up FD to beat many of the mustangs out there in the straight line.
FD will lose to the newer style cobra's, stock to stock.

So... whats your point? "stock to stock"? An rx7 is a better car than a mustang, hands down. He wasnt saying his car was stock, he has a "removed smog pump and many mods." An Fd can be a daily driver stock, and even without the reliability mods it can be driven fine cuz... that was what the original intention was remember? Im not trying to flame you, i just hate it when people SEEM to suggest that mustangs are better than rx7's.

Yes but remember to read those sites...Thiers alot of reliability mods u can perform like bigger radiator and intercooler. Grounding the Fuel pump and other things. S-AFC and Gauges to make sure u never run lean. Im sure thiers some other things so look them up...Im really interested in buying one in the future.
