2nd Gen turbo keg running NA

Anyone know if this will work? A buddy of mine has party lying around. I know the motor will be really weak due to compression differences but will the parts bolt up, and besides a power difference will there be any other issues? Thinking I'll probably turbo it at a later time when fund become available. For now I just want to get the car running. I wanted to ask the infinate know how of this forum before I started ripping into things. Thanks in advance!

There are many on this forum that think four port is the only way to go NA. Check out the NA performance section.

Used turbos often can be had for less than $100, if you already have the intake manifolds and other piping you might as well buy a cheap turbo and stick it in there. Don't forget exhaust, if you also already have the turbo exhaust you'll have to modify it to work with no turbo in place.

Rich huh... Are you running turbo injectors?? Are there smaller injectors that can be used to lean it out a bit?? I'd like for the car to be able to pass smog as I still need to transfer the title..

You have to run the the turbo intake. Guys on here are doing it. You just ditch the turbo and put on NA exhaust. The ecu is a problem though, I think.

Yep. Ran that way for months, before my TII intake manifold was finished.

There's some pretty hefty port mismatch, don't get me wrong. It will, however, drive around just fine, and still manage to make decent power too.

You'll also have to worry about a water leak since the 6-port intake gasket has no provision for coolant O-rings. I suggest a pair of 3/4" freeze plugs.

well i could be wrong on the rich part just seemed like it and i dont have a o2 sensor yet.. But there is no reason for it to have issues running on the stock ecu as people keep telling me as most driving isnt in boost.. just maybe at wot it would be rich. I have some 460cc n/a injectors but the ecu isnt made for them so it probaly wouldnt work to well. But if u have a stand alone no reason you cant use the n/a 460 injectors. or even the 550cc turbo ones as you can change your map to suit.

cheers

My turbo ECU has no problem running 460cc N/a Injectors. as long as the IMPENDENCE matches.
