2nd gen fuel question

hi everyone, ive been a member here for some time now but i havent posted anything in a while. i bought a 1988 turbo II about 8 months ago and it ran for a week, i also have a 91 300zx and it breaks down so much i havent had much time to mess with the rx so ive been tinkering with it and have concluded that it is not getting fuel to the rotors. it has excellent pressure all the way through the rail and i switched out the secondaries and primaries for the remote chance that my primaries both went bad and still nothing, i put a voltmeter on the injector connectors and it got a slight blip so i assumed the ecu was working but i ordered another to be sure, i think it might be bad wiring since it has had another engine put in. if i manually spray fuel in the intake it will start then immediatly die again. it ran poorly for the week that i got to drive it. im still leaning twords the wiring but am open to suggestions or common problems. if anyone lives in the knoxville area i would welcome anyone to come check it out. i dont know much about rotaries and there dont seem to be any places around here that messes with them

thanks again,
chris

Since nobody else has taken a stab at this I'll try. First get a thing called a 'noid', it plugs in where the injector does and flashes if there is a pulse signal. I got mine from the Snap-on man, about $20. That will tell you a lot.
To test the injectors there is a way to safety wire them to the fuel rail and see if they spray when the engines cranking, its kind of a pain and pretty involved but it will show whats happening. If you feel the need to go that far it explains it in the service manual or I could type you through it.
I haven't messed with the stock ecu(always had a stand alone) at all so beyond the mechanical parts and functions I can't help there. Maybe somebody knows if there is a sensor that tells the ecu if the engine is cranking. I had a Jeep that stopped running because of a crank sensor wire, the computer never thought anything was moving, just a thought, I dunno. Take the cover off the distributor looking thing, thats where the ignition sensors are, see if it spins when you crank the engine. If not, probably have an internal problem in the front cover(not bad to deal with).
Good luck, hope somebody who knows more about the stock set-up jumps in with some insight.

i thought it might be the crank angle sensor but that also controlls the spark and im definately getting that if i spray gas into the intake it starts for a sec until it uses all the gas i sprayed, i have an ecu conning and im sorta afraid to plug it in. if the wiring is bad it will short this one out too but if the ecu just went bad for unknown reasons then that might be the problem as well. so i guess im just gonna try that when it shows up. like i said it ran when i bought it and after it quit running i let it set for like a month then i got a wild hair up my *** one day and just went out there and cranked it. it started! i always had a problem with cold starting so it ran roughly. it eventually died and hasnt ran since.
