Lightbulb 2-Engines = 4 Lobe rotary???

I am about to come across my 3rd rotary engine, and am going to have two to play around with. my question is since the rotary is sort of sandwiched together i was wondering how hard is it to pull the front of one the back off the other and fit the two together to make a four lobe setup. now i know alot of fabrication would have to be done like the eccentric shaft and the like but i was wondering if anyone has done this or has ideas on doing it ????

It's been done before, called a 26B, Mazda runs it on their 787 car

it pricey and complicated, plus both middle rotors will only have primary sized ports on both sides, instead of the standard primary on one side secondary on the other side type deal. Never reall understood how they got past that with those custom 3 & 4 rotors....

The best way to do this would be to machine an eccentric shaft like the one "guru" makes in Australia it is two piece and has a carrier bearing to minimize deflection in the shaft for high RPM and high boost applications. If you bought one of his you could use it to model a custom 4 piece unit. It would be cheaper than trying to engineer one yourself. The sticky point is trying to modify stationary gears and center Irons to make the center two rotors work. here is a link to gurus two piece eccentric shaft
