CA 1988 Rx7 TII idle/vacuum leak problem

recently just bought a 1988 Rx7 Turbo II and it came with all sorts of little problems, but nothing as big as now.

Before when I started the car warm, the idle was a little shakey so you needed to give it some help with the gas pedal and hold it for a good 30 sec. or minute.

Now I have no idea what happened! I parked it at my dad's restaurant and when I came to turn it back on it would start and idle up to at least 3k rpm then come crashing down back to zero and stalling out the car. It worked real well and then just died down like this.

I've talked to a friend of mine and he thinks its either the fuel pump or a vacuum leak. Another thought would be the TPS but I have no clue.

Any help would be appreciated.

A common symptom of any car using a MAF sensor that has gone out is a spike in intake and then the engine dying rapidly. Are you capable of getting the car to stay running by using the throttle?
