Are those things still seperating and being ingested by the engine? I was going to order a set online one day and something told me to log on to the forum first. I did, and found the thread where the little ramp shaped piece came out and when into the rotor Good karma I guess, I never ordered them.

Mine happened a little differently. After 20,000 miles, it finally came loose in the sleeve, and during the tail end of the intake stroke when compression is starting to be made, pressure got "behind" the sleeve and it shot toward the stainless steel pin on the other end of the sleeve and knocked it completely out. After that, the pineapple sleeve got sucked back in place and the pin that got knocked out, got sucked right into the chamber. It was quite catastrophic. The pin even punctured the rotor and I was blowing the biggest smokescreen I have ever seen in my life for about 10 miles on my way back home. Thus, the reason I went with a 4-port N/A. This gave me the excuse to.

At the top of the 2nd Gen section is a sub section where people post there time slips and dyno charts. Read some of the threads in the performance section also. Go to www.atkinsrotary.com as I believe they have customers with rotary engines producing lots of power. www.mazdatrix.com has an 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation RX-7, each of which holds a land speed record in its respective category of competition. I've seen videos of cars with rotary engines running less then 8 seconds in the quarter mile. Nitromethane or alcohol fueled maybe?

The question you asked is very vague. There is no "most you can expect." There is "most you can expect with a budget of X dollars, but there is no magic HP number that will cause a rip in the space time continuum if you exceed it. Like the saying goes, "Speed cost money. How fast can you afford to go?"
